📖 The Spiritual Significance of the 5 Limbs of Panchang

The word Panchang is derived from two Sanskrit words: Pancha (five) and Anga (limbs). In Vedic tradition, consulting these five cosmic dimensions harmonizes our human consciousness with universal natural cycles:

1. Tithi (Lunar Phase)

Reflects the angular distance between the Sun and the Moon (12° per Tithi). Governs emotional balance, mental clarity, and spiritual purity.

2. Vaar (Solar Weekday)

Each day is energized by a planetary ruler (Surya, Chandra, Mangal, etc.). Grants vitality, physical stamina, and longevity.

3. Nakshatra (Constellation)

The 27 lunar mansions through which the Moon traverses. Dissolves negative karmic impressions and enhances intuitive alignment.

4. Yoga (Angular Sum)

The combined celestial longitude of the Sun and Moon (27 yogas). Remediates mental and physical ailments, fostering radiant health.

5. Karana (Half-Tithi)

Represents half of a Tithi (6° separation). Ensures success, accomplishment, and steady execution of planned tasks.
